Resona is built around a semantic antenna document: your editable design remains the source of truth while geometry, solver models and results are derived.
Current desktop capabilities
- Semantic Straight Wire, Vertical, Dipole, Radial System, Loop, Yagi, Feed Point and RLC Load editing.
- Stable attachments, explicit junctions, generated geometry and diagnostics that preserve the difference between a crossing and an electrical connection.
- Native UTF-8
.resonaprojects with migrations, validated loading and atomic save behavior. - Single-frequency and sweep workflows with impedance, SWR and result provenance when supported by the selected backend.
Calculation boundaries
The approved OpenNEC backend provides physical impedance and SWR calculations for supported models. Debug builds can use a clearly synthetic Fake Solver for development only; it is never physical analysis and is not advertised in release builds.
Maintained portability
Resona is a C++20, Qt 6 native desktop application. Windows 10 1809+/11 x86-64 is the platform claimed by the accepted 0.1.0 release. Linux and macOS remain maintained portability targets until a release explicitly claims them.
Future and unavailable behavior
Features that are not supported by the selected backend, not included in a release, or still under evaluation are shown as unavailable rather than silently substituted. Resona is not a cloud service, web simulator, generic CAD tool or guarantee of real-world antenna performance.
